The Q2 booking calendar — book early or pay rush
Graduation is the most schedule-constrained event we set up. Late April through late June is the entire window. For 2026, the realistic booking calendar:
- Early April — book if you want any Saturday slot in late May or early June. Most studios are still wide open.
- Late April — major Saturday slots start filling for high school grads (mid-late June). College grad weekends (mid-May) almost full.
- Early May — week-of slots only for late June. Saturday May/early June grad weekends usually 80%+ booked across LA studios.
- Mid-May onward — same-week or rush bookings only. Expect $75 rush surcharge from most studios; some won\'t take any new bookings at all.
If your graduation is in May 2026, you\'re in the rush window. We can sometimes still fit in last-minute bookings, but the palette and date flexibility is gone.
What\'s in our $500 graduation package
The graduation package is built around the year numerals as the focal feature, with school colors as the palette. Specifically:
- 60 premium balloons in two school colors
- 6-ft backdrop frame with organic garland
- Large vinyl year numerals (2026, \'26, etc.)
- Graduation cap foil accent
- Custom name or school vinyl up to 16 characters
- Professional 30–45 minute setup at your venue
The $500 price reflects the Q2 demand premium — every studio in LA prices graduation slightly higher than birthday at the same scope. It\'s seasonal-pricing reality, not a markup.
School-color matching
"Can you match my school\'s exact colors?" — same realistic answer as for corporate brand colors. We match within balloon palette tolerances. For LA-area schools whose colors fall close to standard balloon colors (red, navy, gold, silver, white, black), the match is excellent. For schools with specific Pantone identity (purple-gold combinations, specific teal shades), we get to "close enough that photos look right" — not exact Pantone.
Common LA-area school color scenarios we set up regularly:
- USC: cardinal + gold — matches well
- UCLA: blue + gold — matches well (sometimes a custom blue mix is needed for the exact UCLA shade)
- LA-area high schools: most use combinations of standard balloon-palette colors
- Private universities (Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount): vary; we match closest standard color

Year numerals — what works in photos
The year numerals are the photographic centerpiece of a grad package. Two format options:
- 4-digit year ("2026") — most common, reads cleanly in photos at any distance.
- 2-digit year ("\'26") — increasingly popular for class-of-style displays; reads as more contemporary, takes less space on the backdrop.
Both options use the same standard vinyl. Some grads ask for a combined "Class of 2026" or "Class \'26" format — also possible, but the longer text takes more space and we may reduce the vinyl height to fit. Mention the preferred format in the booking notes.
Where graduation decor goes
The most common LA graduation decor scenarios:
- Backyard grad parties — by far the most common. Backdrop sits behind the food/cake area, year numerals are the photo backdrop. 30–60 guest events fit our package perfectly.
- Restaurant private rooms — for smaller graduations or family-only celebrations. Most LA private dining rooms allow balloon decor with advance notice.
- Professional photo-shoot setups — some families book the package specifically for professional grad photos in the backyard before the actual ceremony. The 6-ft backdrop reads cleanly in photo backgrounds.
- School venue setups — possible at most LA-area schools with administration approval. The school events team usually has a vendor list — confirm we can be added if not already on it.
- Hotel grad celebrations — at the upper end. Beverly Hills and West Hollywood hotel venues see this for higher-end family celebrations.
The graduation-cap accent
Every graduation package includes a foil graduation-cap accent — usually positioned at the top of the year numerals or off to one side as a secondary focal point. The cap reads as the universal grad symbol in photos and saves the design from looking like a generic two-color birthday.
Optional add-ons that work well for grad:
- Diploma scroll prop: +$30 — physical prop for grads to hold in photos
- Photo backdrop board with school logo: +$110 — printed school logo on a separate prop board (requires logo file 7+ days ahead)
- Balloon column: +$120 — second focal element, useful for larger backyards
Comparing graduation to birthday at the same scope
Graduation ($500) vs birthday ($450) at the same scope: $50 difference. That difference reflects:
- Q2 seasonal demand premium (every LA studio prices graduation higher in May/June)
- Year-numeral vinyl is larger than name vinyl, requires more material
- Graduation-cap foil accent is a fixed inclusion (vs optional add-on for birthdays)
- Custom school-color matching labor (slightly more than the 3-pre-mixed-palette approach)

What about Sweet 16 and quinceañera scenarios
Sweet 16, quinceañera and bat mitzvah events fit our birthday package at $450 rather than the graduation package. The year-numeral focal feature isn\'t the right design for these events; the birthday package with name vinyl reads more appropriately.
For grad-and-quinceañera combination events (occasionally booked when graduations and major birthdays land in the same weekend), the birthday package + add-on year numerals option works well — talk to us in the booking notes.
Service area
Graduation decor is available across our entire LA service area. Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Santa Monica all see heavy grad bookings — central LA covers everywhere else. Most LA-area schools and home venues are within our standard 25-mile zone.
How to book before slots fill
If your grad is in 2026, book now. Two routes:
- Direct package booking via the contact form with graduation preselected. We confirm within 2 hours.
- If your grad is also a milestone family celebration (50th anniversary + grad combination, multi-grad family event), contact us with the full event details.
Confirmed bookings get our weekend slots in priority order they came in. We do not hold slots without a deposit — if you\'re comparing studios, book ours when you\'re ready, or you\'ll likely lose the slot.
